I’m thrilled to introduce our guest this week – Lisa Maloney, founder of Spicy Spuds & Other Stuff.

As a Child Nutrition Director, Lisa saw firsthand how students were choosing convenience store junk food over healthier cafeteria meals. Rather than accepting this as the norm, she tapped into her entrepreneurial spirit to create a solution. Lisa launched Spicy Spuds & Other Stuff, a line of custom, sodium-free spice blends designed to make healthy food taste absolutely delicious without added sodium.

Her journey began right in her home kitchen, experimenting with different combinations to craft flavorful, versatile blends that would work in any setting – whether at home, in restaurants, or in school cafeterias. Today, her products are transforming meals across communities, proving that with passion and innovation, one idea can create lasting impact.

Lisa’s story is a true testament to entrepreneurship with purpose – seeing a problem, creating a solution, and building a business that helps others live healthier lives.

Lisa Maloney, founder of Spicy Spuds & Other Stuff, has been a fervent advocate for healthy eating since her high school years, where she was enrolled in a two-year food service management program. Graduating with a B.S. in Food Science and Nutrition from Chapman University, Lisa’s career has been dedicated to enhancing dietary practices. Her journey in nutrition consulting and K-12 Child Nutrition Management has profoundly impacted her approach to food healthiness, especially following significant USDA regulatory changes in 2010 that required schools to offer healthier meals with lower sodium and increased vegetables, fruits, and whole grains.
